A brief word...
These books were all written by me, without the use of AI. I detest the fucking thing, mostly because I am smart enough to understand the concept of 'consequences'. The terms of sale state clearly that they are NOT to be uploaded into any AI or LLM tool under any circumstances. Respect human insight and effort, and put some in yourself. An AI interpretation of what I wrote is NOT what I wrote. If you need a computer to make sense of something for you, you can't.
This is the only place you can legitimately find my books. They are not for sale on Amazon because I refuse to do business with them if I can at all help it. I would make more money and get greater reach, no doubt, but Integrity matters.
Viable
Viable is the first coaching book I have written... but it oddly dovetails with my general philosophy of protective security. Ensuring that we are viable in the face of an uncertain future...kind of the point of the whole thing, isn't it?
Viable presents a new model for developing viability - as a person, as an employee, and as a Sage in your field. It's no longer enough to be the same as everyone else.

The Problem of Security
The first book I released was something of a catharsis for me. I was fed up with seeing the wrong things being taught that had nothing to do with real-world security practice...and nobody saying anything about it.
I explained (in brutal detail) what I felt was wrong with the security industry at the time...and it resonated with a lot of people around the world.
Many thanked me because they thought the problem was them, that they hadn't understood. It's not them.
Since writing this, things have not improved. Quite the opposite...
The Complete Bitter Pill
For 44 weeks, I posted polls on LinkedIn for the 'experts' and 'leaders' to answer about core security, risk and governance topics.
For 44 weeks, 90-95% of these geniuses got them catastrophically wrong.
I published a highly inflammatory, highly offensive newsletter each week, deconstructing the right answer and viciously ridiculing the 'thinking' that led to the wrong one. And none of the cunts ever decided to learn anything, but still mouthed off on LinkedIn about how much of an 'expert' they were.
I proved they weren't. Buyer beware.
The Superior Security Practitioner
Following accusations from the previous book that I was 'just a monkey flinging shit', I was challenged with 'If you're so smart, what do we have to do about it.'
This book is the answer.
Too many people need to be told what to DO rather than working on what they need to BE. That's why most of the industry can only tick boxes.
This book provides a competency model for a successful security practitioner worthy of the name.

Six conversations that matter
In the ancient world, philosophers would teach through dialogues with their students. I thought I would try something similar with this book.
Six different conversations with six different people about security, security careers, risk and more.
I expect to publish this before the end of 2027.
Real Security Management™
THIS is what we need to DO.
I created a new philosophy of value-driven organisational protection that completely breaks security practice from the useless confusion of 'risk management'. This book was described as 'over 100 years ahead of current industry thinking.'
Most of the industry contributions to thinking described on the About page were delivered in this book.

New book coming 2027
This book is currently underway, and will turn the original trilogy of security books (Problem, Superior and Real) into a quadrilogy.
This one might well be the most dangerous security book ever written. If I was popular before, this will really seal the deal. I'm taking my time because I am considering the potential consequences of what I will be saying here.
This book (it has a title, but no clues just yet) will provide the basis for a lot of new online material that will follow in 2027 and beyond.
A Swan Dive in the Shallow End
I wrote this as a cautionary tale, as well as a part of my own rehabilitation. I needed to reflect on why I ever decided to do this security thing, as well as why I did it the way that I did.
This is not 'brave', nor is it performative vulnerability. If you read it and get something from my experiences that helps you...it served its purpose. Reader discretion is advised...as usual.
